1. With the CFX L3500IF, I cannot get the PC to see the CFX.  "Error writing to LPT1..."
2. What are the versions of the DTM and printer drivers for the CFX products?

1.  Problem.  With the CFX L3500IF, I cannot get the PC to see the CFX or I am getting errors like "Error writing to LPT1..."

1.  Set all other printer drivers to "Print to File"

2.  The CFX L3500 works best with ECP only.  Check and confirm the PC's BIOS settings

3.  Check the printer drivers Port settings and Spool settings
Port Settings:  Uncheck the following
Spool MS-DOS Jobs
Check Port State before printing
Spool settings.  Check print directly to the printer.  Enable Bi-directional support.

4.  Exclusive port control
The CIS1284.sys (Canons Parallel port controller) may require exclusive control of the LPT port.  Check the System.ini

Ensure the following is listed
[386Enh]
device=C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\cis1284.386

This is not using exclusive port control
[cis1284.386]
lpt1=0
lpt2=0
lpt3=0

This is using exclusive port control for LPT1.  No other printers will be able to use this port.  (Doh)
